The Barking Cow Farms is the husband and wife team of Adam and Catherine Seeker. Growing up, Adam's mother worked extensively for the local vet in their hometown in Pennsylvania and later went on to be the Animal Control Liason for the county. She took her knowledge and taught her son everything that she knew about dogs, behavior, and proper care.
Catherine's mother also came from an animal background. In 1986, Catherine's mother took her love of Poodles and turned it into a business. She bred and raised toy and miniature poodles over the next 14 years. Catherine learned a lot about the business from her mother. And her love of Poodles was passed down.
in 2000, Catherine ventured out and began breeding Papillons. She did this for 9 years. In 2004 Catherine got her first lab, and thus the love for the breed became an obsession. As her Papillons grew older and settled into their retirement years, Catherine went to her vet to learn everything she could about the breed, and from there she bred Champion Hunting and Show Labrador Retrievers. Her first was a chocolate female named Paris.
After Paris Retired in 2012, Catherine and Adam took a break from breeding to love and raise their dogs and children together. In 2018, Adam bought Catherine her first ever Saint Bernard and a new love grew. From the arrival of Bernadette, Catherine took to researching as much as she could about this glorious breed, and it is the whole reason for The Barking Cow. And the love for the other breeds didn't stop there. While they had added back in Labrador Retrievers, Poodles and Doodles in the past, their sole focus is on AKC Show Potential Papillons making The Barking Cow a wonderful place to find the newest addition for any family.
